Dear Hotel Manager

Hi, it's Gene Doucette again from room 109. Just a short note to say we are all still very much enjoying our stay in your hotel. My wife and I also had a couple of questions.

First, when we initially booked our vacation the first question my wife asked was whether your hotel would be operating with all the amenties, given that this is the off-season for your resort. Perhaps there was a miscommunication somewhere, as we consider room service to be an amenity, whereas the person she was speaking to evidently did not. We are basing this on the fact that when we call the restaurant to ask for room service we are told that they don't have any today, and could we try back again tomorrow? Since we plan to be hungry tomorrow as well, we do intend to try back again.

Second, you have a sign posted near the pool stating that no guests under the age of fourteen are allowed in the hot tubs. This sign presents something of a problem for us. You see, we always do what we can to make sure our children pay attention to rules, so we have instructed them to follow this rule. Unfortunately, none of the other guests here feel the same way. Or, none of the other guests here can read. Either option, frankly, is possible. My children are somewhat upset to see other kids considerably younger than them frolicking in the tub, and since you have no staff to speak of within a hundred yards of the pool area, nobody is stopping them. Since neither of us are entirely sure why hot tubs are bad for children, my wife has decided to tell our children the tub is bad for their hearts. (Coincidentally, when my son piles his plate full of bacon from your all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet we tell him the same thing. He now believes he has an undisclosed heart ailment.) We would be very grateful if you could either take down the sign, or put someone at the pool to keep the other children out.

Yours in writing,

Gene Doucette, Room 109
