...but the Boston Globe has reviews today. I highly recommend taking in the editorials by James Carroll (An obscene portrayal of Christ's Passion) and Jeff Jacoby (Is 'The Passion' anti-Semitic?.) Both are written very eloquently. In Carroll's case, the man is deeply angry with what he sat through, and since he is one of the better columnists I've come across even when he's not angry... well, it's good. Read it. Comic relief From last night's The Daily Show, "expert" Steven Colbert, speaking as "the Daily Show Moral Authority": "John, the only REASON my wife and I got married was BECAUSE it was something gay people couldn't do!" I always get annoyed when I find this show is in repeats for a week so they can take a vacation-- as they were last week-- but when they come back it is with a vengeance. Last night's show was just hysterical. Open letter to the Religious Right: please vote for me Bush to support constitutional amendment prohibiting marriage by same-sex partners Yeah, because that's what constitutions are for: to restrict freedoms. A quote from Bush's speech: "if judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process." I just want you to read that a couple of times and think about it, because this might be the most idiotic sentence I've seen in a very long while.
