Today on my way through the parking lot at work I was stuck behind someone in a Toyota RAV-4 who would come to a complete, dead stop before every speed bump, then slooooowly drive over it. Why, I ask, do you buy an SUV if you're going to behave like that about a friggin' speed bump? But what a piece of ass, huh coach? The University of Colorado football program was already in big trouble, what with three charges of rape and word that hookers and strippers were part of the recruitment process, but then comes this gem. In 1999, an undergraduate named Katie Hnida made the squad as a placekicker. She now says that in her time there-- in which she never appeared in a game-- one of the players raped her. She is not suing and does not intend to have charges brought (although the D.A. is investigating anyhow) but wanted to get it out there because it deserves to be. Appraised of this revelation, CU football head coach Gary Barnett said "It's a guy's sport, and they felt like Katie was forced on them. It was obvious Katie was not very good. She was awful." Yes. A man answering questions about a rape accusation said, out loud and to reporters, that the alleged victim was "forced on" his players. And today he's surprised the university has put him on suspension. Wow. Everybody together now: "in MAINE??" Man plans topless coffee shop in Maine
