Or, you might think so based on my current musical interests. I've been swapping music with someone in the office one might define as "a female", and while I've been dropping Wilco, Beck, and The White Stripes on her she has returned the favor with Lily Allen, A Fine Frenzy, Feist, and The Ting Tings. Lily Allen is my new crush. If Elvis Costello was a sexually frustrated mid-twenties woman and his music was being composed by The Pet Shop Boys it would sound a little bit like Lily Allen. Sample lyric: "But it doesn't matter cause I'm packing plastic. And that's what makes my life so fucking fantastic."

Speaking of music, have you tired of the Flobots yet?
Know who else at first sounded "different" as in "different is good," but then it turned out a few weeks later that it was "different" as in "gimmicky"? Have you heard any MGMT?
I have, one song. It was ALMOST interesting enough for me to hear more, but not quite.
And the Flobots? I've only got one song, and I'm not tired of it yet...
We've got TWO flobots songs floating about right now. I can stand to hear them, but after a few times a day, I begin to just mock them. I think what it is I DO like about them is how they incorporated other, less "rock-like" musical instruments; my fave part of their handlebars song is the little horn solo.
I like the lyrics for the most part, or maybe I should say I like the meanings of the songs I've heard. Just can't really see myself chanting their names. Liking the new Spoon stuff right now, though. As well as The Kooks. And there's a song out I've heard that I think I may like a lot, but I can't find out who it is. Sounds like the Kooks a little, but I can't find the song anywhere to verify that. And the Ting Tings are sort of a small riot ;-)
OK I just figured out which band & which song had been recently elusive: "1901" by Phoenix. Might have to check them out.
