The Other Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook

HOW TO PERFORM AN APPENDECTOMY

Use this procedure only when you are absolutely certain that the person in question actually has appendicitis. Appendicitis can be chacterized as a sharp pain somewhere on the lower right portion of the torso. The pain should be sharp enough that the person says "oww, I think I have appendicitis." If they say "oww, I think I have gas," this is a good indication that they only have gas. It is probably also a good idea to call an ambulance before proceeding.

You will need: A sharp knife, a pair of scissors, a smock or apron or clothes you don't care too much about, and help from a couple of strong people.
